Buffalo's vs Eagles
 

I'm thinking of picking up some gold coins. I'm going to get either eagles or Buffalo's. The prices through Tulving aren't that different between the two. For 1.45 more per coin, I can get Buffalo's instead of Eagles.

What would you guys get and why?

Buy both, as many as you can.
sell dollars with both hands, as fast as you can.
The only question(s) are:
how much metal can you obtain,
and,
how close can you hold it.

Both.
Diversification.
Personally, I like the Buffalo because of the .9999 fine purity.
You'll enjoy no matter which you choose though. :emotions16:

I like buffalo's more. The design is really nice and I just prefer 24K coins over 22K coins.

You have to have a REALLY narrow view of the world to think gold eagles + gold buffalos is "diversification".

For Bullion - Buffalo! 24k - GAE's are okay if no option ..but I prefer Maples and anything else 24k - why would I want 22k for a bullion coin?

Oh yeah - If you want some unique stuff ...Gold Libertads on Apmex.... I hope they are still there next month as I would love to have some.

Thanks guys, I am getting them for bullion but I decided to go for the eagles this time around. I just think it will be easier to store in the mint tubes that they come in. I'll probably get buffalos next time around ;).


FYI, Looks like APMEX is out of the 2008 and earlier gold eagles. All they have left is 2009 uncirc and they upped the price to 59 over spot.
